Unit #7b - Latin America
Resource Library

Regional Importance and Introduction:  The Latin American region is very diverse--that is, there are lots of different things there.  There are tons of different types of animals, plants, and climates there.  There are lots of different types of people there who speak lots of different types of languages including the two most common languages of Spanish and Portuguese.  South America stretches from north of the Equator to the southern tip near Antarctica.  It is a continent of extremes: tropical rain forests, the Pampas grasslands, and the longest mountain range in the world with the Andes Mountains.  With this second unit, we study this extreme continent of rich diversity.  We will study South America!
